Maggie’s Cancer Centres and the Eliminate Cance Initiative

June 5, 2018 - Mike Dilke

The Relaxback UK Show this time features Maggie's Cancer Centres and the Eliminate Cancer Initiative.

Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends, following the ideas about cancer care originally laid out by Maggie Keswick Jencks.

Max Fraser explains the concept here, along how his mother's death from cancer, got him involved in raising money for the charity.

The video below also talks about what the charity sets out to achieve.

In this edition of Relaxback UK I also talk with Amy Hay who looks after the Universal Cancer Databank which is part of the Eliminate Cancer Initiative.

The Universal Cancer Databank is a worldwide database project, which aims to underpin the next generation of cures for rare and intractable cancers and you can hear Amy talk about it here. Amy explains the ethos behind it and how you can donate your data to the databank.

Thank you for reading and please do listen to the RELAXBACK UK show. If you have any questions or comments about the topics in the show please do ask or make them here.

In the show I mentioned that I had to do the interview twice with Max Fraser because I pressed the wrong button - sorry Max! I also said there would be a link to him at Milan Design Week with CNN  - have a look here.
