Marathon Training Myths, Help for Osteopaths and Diary Dates

March 21, 2017 - Mike Dilke

LISTEN TO THIS WEEKS RELAXBACK UK SHOW HERE.

If you have questions or comments about the show please ask or make them right here.

This week I speak with Lucy Macdonald of The Octopus Clinic in London about myths and common mistakes that runners might make when training for a marathon.

One of the main ones that she advises against is the obsession with running a long way as part of the training schedule. All this does is leave you more likely to get injured and just takes a long time (in my cases that would be a very long time!) There are much more efficient ways to train so listen in to find them out  and see what other training myths she has.

Gilly Woodhouse of Osteobiz has made it a purpose in her life to help osteopaths get more patients. She is a marketing expert and shares a very personal story about why she does this. Her son was ill when he was younger and this resulted in a heart transplant in his teens. Here Gilly tells how an osteopath helped him through different parts of this journey. Make sure you have time to listen to the whole interview because once you start you will not be able to stop.

There are also a couple of approaching dates for conferences and exhibitions that will be useful to those who suffer, or don't want to suffer from back pain. Les Creen of The Human Office in Gateshead will be attending the Newcatle Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday April 1st at Gosforth Park, Newcastle. You will be able to talk about all things ergonomic with him there and try out some equipment including chairs and desks.

Also the Back Pain Show will be at St Andrews Stadium, Birmingham on May 19th and 20th. If you suffer from back pain or help those that do then this is the place to be.

Thank you for reading and please do listen to the Relaxback UK show covering more details on the above right HERE.
